We want it to be easy for you to come to church. We want you to experience a great time in worship and meet friendly people who will welcome you into the family of Second Baptist. We know that first-time visits to any church raise many questions and concerns. Here's a quick look at some frequently asked questions that will hopefully give you a better idea of what to expect when you visit Second Baptist. Where are you located?
Our address is 5300 Baseline Road, Boulder Colorado 80303. We are located approximately 1/2 mile east of Foothills Parkway in Boulder. Click here for more information.
Where do I park?
We have reserved parking spaces for first-time guests. These spaces are convienently located directly in front of the Sanctury. If you need assistance, feel free to ask any of the greeters.
Where do I go?
Greeters are located at each entrance to the building and are available to direct you to the Sanctuary for worship, to a classroom for Bible Study or to any specific ministry meeting area.
What should I wear?
Dress comfortably. We're more concerned with meeting your needs than focusing on what you wear. While some people do choose to wear their "Sunday best", most people wear casual clothing. We only ask that you be modest and appropriate in what you choose to wear to worship.
What do I need to bring?
A Bible will help you follow along in both worship and Bible Study. If you have a Bible, bring it with you. If you don't have a Bible, copies of the New International Version Bible are located in the Sanctuary and in Bible Study classrooms for your use.
When do I need to arrive?
Sunday morning services begin promptly at 8:00am, 9:30am and 11am. Bible Study classes meet at 9:45am and 11am. Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the service/class time to allow adequate time for parking and getting to the Sanctuary/Bible Study class.
Where do my children go?
Just inside the Preschool entrance are greeters stationed throughout the morning to register your child and direct them to their classroom. We offer preschool childcare from bed babies through 5 years, all located on the ground floor. Children (grades 1-5) and Youth (grades 6-college) meet upstairs. The Children's Hallway is located directly above the Preschool Hallway and the Youth Hallway is located at the end of the Children's Hallway.
How do the worship services differ?
The 8:30am service is traditional and features the singing of hymns accompanied by the piano, organ and the Sanctuary Choir. The 9:45am and 11am services are blended and feature the singing of hymns and praise choruses accompanied by the praise band and the Celebration Choir. Both the 9:45am and 11am services also feature the ues of occasional drama or video to enhance the worship experience.
How are visitors recognized?
The last thing we want to do is single you out or put you on the spot. We ask visitors to fill out a Guest Information Card located inside of the weekly bulletin and simply drop it in the offering plate so that we can have a record of your visit. We'll never ask you to stand up or call you out in any way. We want you to have a wonderful experience at Second Baptist and we strive to create a friendly and comfortable environment to make you feel right at home.
